Tawarayama Onsen
Tawarayama Onsen is a hot spring town in Yamaguchi, Japan. The water leaves the ground at 41°C, comfortably warm. It measures pH 9.9 — strongly alkaline. Officially the water is classed as simple spring and iron spring.

Mild and low in dissolved minerals. Usually clear and gentle on the skin, which is why these baths are often recommended for first-timers.
Iron spring
Turns reddish brown as the iron meets air. The water is clear at the source.
