Hakkannon Onsen

Saitama · 百観音温泉

Hakkannon Onsen is a hot spring town in Saitama, Japan. The water leaves the ground at 57.3°C, hot. It measures pH 7.55 — mildly alkaline, the slippery kind. Officially the water is classed as chloride spring and iodine spring. Its sources put out around 2,250 litres a minute.

Salty water. The salt leaves a thin film on the skin, so you stay warm well after leaving the bath.

Contains iodine and often turns yellowish over time. Uncommon.
